Appointments AWR Event
On the 1st October 2011, the new Agency Workers Regulations will come into force causing significant impacts upon businesses throughout the UK. The change in legislation will mean that after 12 weeks of employment, all temporary workers will be entitled to the same rights as permanent employees with regards to pay, holidays and working conditions. An awareness of the new regulations is crucial as it may leave many businesses at risk if they fail to get the right support and guidance.
Appointments Personnel Managing Director Kerry Bonfiglio-Bains said “as part of our strategy to offer our clients more we decided to share our expertise with the local business community and in partnership with Knights Solicitors we can offer professional help and advice on a wide range of legislative and employment issues.”
She continued “this hands on practical event has been specially designed for anyone who undertakes recruitment and I would strongly urge them to join us to avoid getting caught out when the new regulations come into force.”
Knights partner Isabel Hancock will explain the legal complexities of the Regulations, enabling businesses to understand how they will be affected in practice and the penalties for breaches of the legislation.
