Appointments supports College to help students boost employability skills
Appointments Personnel has joined forces with Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) to offer students valuable employability tips and mentoring advice during their programme of study.
Higher education students studying the HNC/HND in Business and further education students studying the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Understanding Enterprise and Entrepreneurship will be attending masterclasses led by Directors of Appointments Personnel. These masterclasses will provide top-tips on writing and presenting an eye-catching CV, completing a complex job application form, preparing for that all important job interview and lots more.
As well as leading employability masterclasses, Emma Forster, Managing Director, and Kerry Bonfiglio-Bains, Founder of Appointments Personnel, will also be acting as mentors to the students and will be working with them on several occasions throughout the academic year to help expand on their existing knowledge and prepare them for the world of work or university.
Kerry, said: “As an ex-NULC student myself, I understand the importance of making sure that you’re work-ready once you finish your studies. I’m hoping that by providing students with my top-tips on working in the business world, they’ll go on to become successful young professionals.”
Vicki Disley, Curriculum Manager in Business at NULC, said: “We’re really excited to have Kerry on-board. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the business world and has achieved so much in her career to-date. We’ve worked with Kerry on a number of occasions over the years and she has always been really supportive to the College and our students. The students are really lucky to have this opportunity – the support they will receive from Kerry will be invaluable.”
The partnership will officially launch on Wednesday 28 September, with Kerry meeting the students she will be working closely with for the first time.
NULC expanded its higher education provision in 2016 by launching two further university-level qualifications, the HND in Business and HNC in Business. Over eleven students have enrolled onto the course which started this September.
