We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Senior Accountant (Purchase Ledger & VAT) to join a fast-paced finance team within a market-leading organisation. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys process improvement, and has strong VAT and regulatory reporting experience.
A little bit about the role

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT and other regulatory returns.

Review Purchase Ledger VAT postings, correcting errors and providing feedback to the team.

Take ownership of supplier tax processes and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Support and provide cover for colleagues within the Latin American Purchase Ledger and VAT teams.

Oversee weekly multi-currency payment run files for the Latin American region.

Identify inefficiencies in Purchase Ledger and VAT processes and implement improvements in line with HMRC GfC8 recommendations.

Liaise with the in-house tax team to identify risk areas and implement mitigation strategies.

Work closely with the Finance Manager, adapting to business growth and meeting tight reporting deadlines.

Essential:

ACCA or CIMA qualified.

Proven experience preparing VAT returns (overseas VAT experience advantageous).

Strong experience working to tight deadlines with large volumes of financial data.

Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.

Experience managing multi-currency Purchase Ledger payment runs.

Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
