We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Senior Accountant (Purchase Ledger & VAT) to join a fast-paced finance team within a market-leading organisation. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys process improvement, and has strong VAT and regulatory reporting experience.

A little bit about the role

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual VAT and other regulatory returns.

• Review Purchase Ledger VAT postings, correcting errors and providing feedback to the team.

• Take ownership of supplier tax processes and ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

• Support and provide cover for colleagues within the Latin American Purchase Ledger and VAT teams.

• Oversee weekly multi-currency payment run files for the Latin American region.

• Identify inefficiencies in Purchase Ledger and VAT processes and implement improvements in line with HMRC GfC8 recommendations.

• Liaise with the in-house tax team to identify risk areas and implement mitigation strategies.

• Work closely with the Finance Manager, adapting to business growth and meeting tight reporting deadlines.

• Hybrid working available as part of the company’s flexible working policy.

Essential:

• ACCA or CIMA qualified.

• Proven experience preparing VAT returns (overseas VAT experience advantageous).

• Strong experience working to tight deadlines with large volumes of financial data.

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.

• Experience managing multi-currency Purchase Ledger payment runs.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
