Business Development Manager

An established and growing business is looking to appoint an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive sales growth across a designated territory.

This is a predominantly field-based role, focused on developing new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers. You'll manage your own territory, identify opportunities for growth and work closely with internal teams to deliver excellent customer service and commercial solutions.

Regular attendance at the Stoke-on-Trent office will be required for meetings, planning and business reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
  • Develop long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Carry out regular customer visits across the territory.
  • Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and account value.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and customer activity.
  • Plan and manage your diary to maximise customer coverage.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Report on sales activity, pipeline performance and agreed KPIs.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in Business Development, Field Sales or Account Management.
  • A proven track record of winning new business.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.
  • The ability to manage a field-based territory independently.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.
