We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance & Cleaning Operative to support the upkeep and presentation of our facilities. This is a varied hands-on role involving general maintenance, cleaning duties, and ensuring the building remains safe, clean, and well maintained at all times.

The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards throughout the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Carry out preventative maintenance and minor repairs
• Complete heavy cleaning duties including floor buffing
• Replace fixtures and fittings such as light bulbs and toilet seats
• Carry out minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
• Report any repair requirements or maintenance concerns to management
• Move furniture and equipment when required
• Ensure general areas remain clean, tidy, and safe
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain records of maintenance activities completed
• Follow all company health and safety procedures
• Support colleagues and assist with additional duties when required

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Previous maintenance or facilities experience
• Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
• Good practical skills including basic plumbing and carpentry
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Professional and reliable approach to work
• Full UK driving licence and own transport
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
