Customer Service Lead

We are recruiting for a Customer Service & Internal Sales Supervisor to join a small busy team delivering excellent service to customers and supporting internal sales operations. This role offers the opportunity to take a leadership position, driving team performance, improving processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

A little bit about the role:

  • Supervise the internal sales and customer service team to ensure high-quality service and achievement of SLAs.

  • Coordinate departmental activities, including people, processes, and systems.

  • Resolve issues proactively to maintain consistency in customer service across phones, emails, and internal systems.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and safeguard the customer experience.

  • Manage team holidays, sickness, and breaks to ensure full coverage at all times.

  • Support training and development by identifying areas for upskilling within the team.

  • Oversee order processing, back-orders, held orders, cash orders, and general quality output.

  • Manage claims and escalations, ensuring resolution within agreed KPIs and appropriate approvals are obtained.

  • Maintain B2B2C relationships, providing live updates and managing key accounts to achieve service level agreements.

  • Prepare and report daily KPIs to the leadership team, including orders received, processed, despatched, calls handled, and claims logged.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or internal sales supervisory role.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a team.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to resolve issues proactively and maintain a consistent customer service experience.

  • Comfortable working with systems and reporting tools to track performance and KPIs.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
