Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business. This role is responsible for ensuring plant machinery and equipment operate efficiently to support production and manufacturing activities.

The successful candidate will carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, testing, and emergency breakdown support, helping to minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
  • Carry out electrical testing, inspections, and safety checks
  • Install, commission, and maintain electrical components and systems
  • Repair or replace wiring, sensors, switches, motors, and control panels
  • Support machine safety systems including emergency stops and safety interlocks
  • Assist with continuous improvement and root-cause analysis activities
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation accurately
  • Liaise with production teams and external contractors when required
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company procedures

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of single and three-phase systems, motors, control panels, and electrical safety procedures
  • Understanding of PLC-controlled systems, sensors, relays, and automation equipment
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and practical engineering skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement

Additional qualifications such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Inspection & Testing, IPAF, PASMA, FLT, or MEWP certifications would be advantageous.
