This Finance Assistant role would suit someone with previous finance or accounts experience who is organised, detail-focused, and keen to continue learning. Working closely with the wider team and receiving ongoing support from senior finance leadership, you’ll gain valuable exposure to core accounting processes and business operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of accounts payable and receivable
  • Processing invoices, payments, and cash transactions accurately
  • Maintaining supplier and customer account records
  • Handling finance-related queries and resolving discrepancies
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash allocation
  • Supporting month-end activities including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Helping prepare management reports and financial information
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Working with finance systems and contributing to process improvements
  • Using Sage software and Excel for finance administration and reporting

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this Finance Assistant role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping position
  • AAT qualification, finance-related degree, or studies towards ACCA/CIMA
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Experience using Sage software would be advantageous
