Finance Assistant (Part-Time)

Working closely with the Head of Finance, this Finance Assistant position offers hands-on exposure across payroll, reporting, reconciliations, and general accounting tasks. It would suit someone who enjoys accuracy, analysis, and playing a key role in keeping financial operations running smoothly.

Stoke on Trent
Working Pattern:
Part-time, 18–20 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday)
Salary:
£25,000 – £27,000 per annum (pro rata)

Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Assistant, your day-to-day duties will include:
- Supporting payroll processing, including analysis and reporting
- Analysing financial data to produce clear and accurate reports
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledger records
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Supporting statutory and compliance reporting
- Providing general administrative support to the wider Finance team
About You
This Finance Assistant role would be ideal if you have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role
- Proven experience using Xero accounting software(essential)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, methodical approach with strong analytical ability
- Confidence working independently while also being a team player
