Are you an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional with a passion for promoting a positive safety culture? This is a fantastic opportunity for an HSE Manager to join a dynamic organisation and play a key role in maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and embedding best practice across production, warehouse operations, and technical repair functions.

This role would suit someone with strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation who enjoys leading from the front, influencing at all levels, and making a real impact on workplace safety and sustainability.

A little bit about the role:

  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and documentation in line with ISO 45001.

  • Review and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and DSEAR-related compliance documentation.

  • Develop safe systems of work and method statements for higher-risk activities.

  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, preparing monthly reports for management.

  • Manage accident and incident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented.

  • Coordinate statutory checks including LEV testing, noise monitoring, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and racking inspections.

  • Arrange and chair Health & Safety meetings, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.

  • Deliver inductions and refresher training, maintaining training records and issuing certificates.

  • Conduct inspections and audits, producing and distributing compliance check sheets.

  • Lead on emergency planning, including fire drills, spill response, and first aid provision.

  • Oversee waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Manage facilities contractors, including permits-to-work, inductions, and safety compliance.

  • Support alignment with ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

  • Provide professional HSE advice and administration to colleagues, leadership, and external stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential); NEBOSH Diploma (desirable).

  • IOSH membership with evidence of CPD in health and safety.

  • Experience in health and safety within manufacturing, warehousing, or technical/engineering environments.

  • Strong knowledge of risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and DSEAR compliance.

  • Exposure to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems (desirable).

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to coach at all levels.

  • Organised, detail-focused, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Competent IT skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
