HR Advisor

We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor (Employee Relations Focus) to join a busy and people-focused organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing a wide range of employee relations cases, building strong relationships with managers, and promoting fairness, consistency, and positive workplace culture.

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Circa £35,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time

A little bit about the role

  • Provide professional HR and ER advice to managers, ensuring consistent application of policies and compliance with UK employment law

  • Manage a variety of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance-related matters

  • Coach and support managers through people processes to develop their confidence and HR capability

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case management records, ensuring timely updates and reporting

  • Support the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures

  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives, including engagement, wellbeing and organisational change

  • Support investigations and hearings, preparing documentation and ensuring fair and transparent processes

  • Liaise with external partners such as legal advisors and occupational health when required

  • Contribute to HR reporting, analysis and continuous improvement activities

Getting to Know You

  • Previous experience as a HR Advisor or ER Advisor in a fast-paced environment (manufacturing/engineering experience desirable)

  • Strong and up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law

  • Demonstrable experience managing ER cases from start to finish

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build effective working relationships at all levels

  • Practical, confident and solution-focused approach to problem solving

  • Able to manage a busy and varied workload independently

  • CIPD Level 5 (qualified or working towards) preferred

  • Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and HR systems
