Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and driven Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business where you’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, optimising equipment reliability, and delivering engineering excellence.

Reporting to: Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust PPM & TPM systems to ensure zero unplanned stoppages
  • Carry out servicing and repairs of machinery, including fault finding and breakdowns
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Support installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities
  • Interpret and work from mechanical, electrical, and fluid power drawings
  • Mentor and develop junior team members or improvers within the department
  • Manage maintenance stock to ensure availability of parts and consumables
  • Maintain a high standard of 5S across the engineering areas
  • Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements at all times

Requirements:

  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (City & Guilds considered with relevant multi-skilling)
  • Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of CNC machinery
  • Proven experience in reactive and preventative maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of health & safety procedures including risk assessments

Desirable:

  • Previous experience developing or managing preventative maintenance schedules (PPM/TPM)
  • Experience working with PLCs and robotic systems
