This is a varied position offering an approximate 50/50 split between hands-on manufacturing support and technical, documentation-based activities. It would suit someone with a good understanding of manufacturing environments who enjoys investigating production issues, reviewing technical information and helping improve processes and standards.
About the Role
Working alongside a team of five engineers, you will play an important role in ensuring manufacturing documentation, engineering drawings, work instructions, tooling and component information are accurate and up to date.
You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and other departments, helping to identify discrepancies, investigate production issues and support engineering changes and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Review and check manufacturing work instructions, engineering drawings, tooling and component information, ensuring documentation is accurate and fit for purpose.
-
Identify discrepancies, inaccuracies or potential issues within technical documentation and escalate findings to the relevant engineering teams.
-
Record findings, actions and supporting evidence to assist with engineering reviews and investigations.

Support Bill of Materials (BOM) queries and engineering documentation changes.

Contribute to continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and workplace safety initiatives.
-
Access and review manufacturing information using MRP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
About You
We are looking for someone with experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering environment who is comfortable combining practical problem-solving with technical and documentation-based responsibilities.
You will ideally have:

The ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings, manufacturing work instructions, BOMs and technical documentation.
-
Good attention to detail, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate issues.

A practical understanding of manufacturing processes, components and tooling.
-
Experience using MRP or ERP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics advantageous.
-
An understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
-
Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with different departments and external suppliers.
-
A methodical and organised approach, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see issues through to resolution.
