National Account Manager

We are looking for a commercially minded and strategic National Account Manager to join a busy and ambitious sales team. This is a pivotal role for an experienced account manager who enjoys managing key national accounts, driving revenue and margin growth, and identifying new business opportunities across multiple channels.

A little bit about the role

  • Manage and develop an existing portfolio of national accounts, delivering targeted revenue and margin growth.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with key account stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement account strategies that align with both short-term performance and long-term growth objectives.

  • Identify new business opportunities across retail, premium, and eCommerce channels, including exploring own-label possibilities.

  • Manage account planning, forecasting, and commercial decision-making to optimise revenue, margin, and operational capabilities.

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure product ranges, packaging, and distribution meet operational and commercial requirements.

  • Act as an ambassador for the company, its brands, and product ranges.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and the wider sales leadership team, ensuring objectives are met.

  • Analyse account performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide reports and insights for senior management.

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing national or key accounts.

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage accounts across a wide geographical region.

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive revenue and margin growth.

  • Highly effective communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.

  • Results-driven, proactive, and resilient with a positive, collaborative mindset.

  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.

  • Experience in field sales, B2B account management, or commercial sales roles.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the premium food or speciality retail sector.

  • Experience with strategic account planning and sales forecasting.

  • Understanding of product ranges, supply chain capabilities, and operational variables.
