Production Manager

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: 44.5 per week, Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:30, Friday 07:00–16:00

Key Responsibilities of the Production Manager

In this role, you will oversee all daily activities within the production area, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and coaching supervisors, team leaders, and operatives
• Ensuring all health & safety procedures are followed
• Planning staffing levels and resources to meet production targets
• Monitoring workflows and creating catch-back plans when needed
• Maintaining excellent quality standards and reducing rework
• Reviewing trends and introducing improvements to processes
• Ensuring strong communication within the department and across the wider operation
• Keeping the working environment clean, organised, and compliant
• Managing stock accuracy and preparing for stocktakes
• Driving continuous improvement activity, including 5S and standardisation
• Reporting on departmental performance and development progress

What We’re Looking For

The ideal Production Manager will bring:

• Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach and support supervisors
• Excellent understanding of health & safety within a production setting
• A passion for quality and high attention to detail
• Confident communication skills and the ability to build engagement
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
• A continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with lean or 5S methods (desirable)
• Experience within a joinery-based environment (desirable, not essential)
