Project Sales Estimator
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 5:00pm)
Salary: £34,000 - £39,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Estimator looking for a rewarding new challenge where you can work on some exciting projects? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Sales Estimator to join a successful and well-established business. Working as part of a bright and energetic Sales team, you will play an important role in pricing and developing project opportunities ranging from £2k to over £250k.

With support and guidance from an experienced Estimating team, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role combining estimating, customer interaction, negotiation and project work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercially appraise inbound customer enquiries and assess project opportunities

• Identify project requirements using specifications and drawings, as well as liaising directly with customers

• Produce pricing schedules for project requirements, working with colleagues and suppliers where required

• Present proposals to prospective clients and support the sales process through to negotiation

• Support the wider Sales department with tender opportunities and pricing information

• Run project handover meetings with the Operations teams for secured orders

• Visit customers for face-to-face meetings, relationship building and sales negotiations

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven experience within an estimating role, ideally with around 5 years’ experience in a fabrication and/or contracting environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to liaise with customers and colleagues

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to present proposals persuasively

• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

• Positive, proactive "can do" attitude with a willingness to learn

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

• Experience using CRM or MRP systems would be advantageous

• Full UK driving licence
