Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £27,500 to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you a technically minded engineer who enjoys problem-solving and working closely with clients? This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist Pumping Stations team as a Proposals Engineer, helping to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions for sites where gravity drainage isn’t possible.

This Proposals Engineer role would suit someone with strong maths skills, an engineering foundation, and the ability to translate technical requirements into clear proposals and quotations. You’ll work with clients across construction, architecture, and consultancy sectors — and importantly, this is not a commission-based sales role.

Key Responsibilities – Proposals Engineer

As a Proposals Engineer, your focus will be on technical assessment and proposal development:

• Advising clients on the sizing and selection of pumping station systems
• Developing fit-for-purpose, cost-effective pumping solutions
• Preparing detailed tenders, proposals, and quotations
• Working closely with construction professionals, architects, and consultants
• Assessing engineering challenges where gravity sewer access is not available
• Clearly communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a Proposals Engineer who is analytical, proactive, and confident working with technical detail. You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong maths and problem-solving skills
• Some engineering experience or a technical qualification
• Experience producing quotations, tenders, or technical proposals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good PC literacy and confidence using estimating or engineering software
• A construction or groundworks background (useful but not essential)
• A practical understanding of how engineered systems function

Previous pumping stations experience is not required — training and support will be provided.
