Job Title: Part-Time Quality Officer (22-25 hours per week, pro-rata)

Location: Eccleshall, Staffordshire
Reports To: Directors

Job Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Quality Officer to join a leading UK manufacturer based in Eccleshall, Staffordshire. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing and developing the company’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

In this role, you will be crucial in coordinating internal and external audits, handling non-conformances, and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality. You will also oversee customer compliance requests and training programs, working closely with the production team to resolve any quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality & Environmental Management Systems:

    • Maintain and implement Quality and Environmental policies in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

    • Support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) for ongoing ISO 9001 certification.

  • Audit Coordination:

    • Lead, schedule, and coordinate internal and external audits for ISO certifications.

    • Ensure corrective actions are identified and tracked, and report audit results to the Directors.

  • Non-Conformance and Customer Complaints:

    • Manage the resolution of non-conformances from audits or customer complaints.

    • Work with production teams to identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.

  • Reporting & Compliance:

    • Provide regular reports on the QMS performance and status to the Directors.

    • Handle customer quality questionnaires and respond to inquiries about compliance.

  • Training & Competency Management:

    • Maintain the company’s training and competence matrices, ensuring all staff are trained in relevant quality standards and procedures.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Contribute to ongoing improvements in quality systems, processes, and products.

    • Help implement best practices and foster a culture of quality throughout the business.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing or supporting Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Experience with internal and external audits and corrective action management.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (desirable but not essential).

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
