Regional Sales Manager

We are looking for a commercially minded and strategic Regional Account Manager to join a busy and ambitious sales team. This is a pivotal role for an experienced sales professional who enjoys managing key accounts, leading teams, and driving growth across multiple channels.

A little bit about the role

  • Deliver a share of Independent and Group sales targets while managing specified accounts in line with the annual business plan.

  • Spend time in trade, engaging with both the team and customers to drive development and growth.

  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing sales team, creating an ambitious and engaged workforce.

  • Build and implement account and sales plans that align with strategic priorities and maximise revenue, margin, and profit.

  • Identify new business opportunities across channels to support growth ambitions.

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment, accurate forecasting, and operational excellence.

  • Act as an ambassador for the company, its brand, and product range.

  • Analyse performance, produce reporting for senior management, and recommend improvements to deliver commercial excellence.

Essential

  • Proven leadership experience in sales or marketing, ideally within Food & Drink or FMCG sectors.

  • Demonstrable experience in business development and account management.

  • Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to develop long-term plans.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating teams and building relationships with senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet travel requirements.

  • Logical thinker with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach.

Desirable

  • Experience at senior level managing regional or remote teams.

  • Knowledge of fine foods, artisan or premium food & drink sectors.

  • Experience across multiple trade channels such as export, foodservice, key account retail, or non-retail.

  • Understanding of broader business functions outside of sales.

  • Proximity to site is beneficial.
