About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to join a confidential organisation in a strategic leadership capacity. This role will focus on driving process improvement, operational efficiency, and team performance, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products and services. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, leading a management team, and contributing to long-term operational strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse current operational and production processes to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions focusing on cost, quality, and productivity.

  • Develop and implement systems for effective management of goods, resources, and workforce planning.

  • Forecast operational requirements, including staff and material needs, to support business demand.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a management team to ensure high-performing, cohesive teams.

  • Monitor productivity rates and standards, implementing quality control programmes where required.

  • Introduce continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) to enhance processes and foster a culture of improvement.

  • Collate and analyse data, develop KPIs, and produce reports for senior leadership.

  • Support cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to implement policies, projects, and strategic goals.

  • Lead by example in promoting health, safety, and operational compliance.

  • Resolve recurrent operational and customer-related issues through root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee medium- to long-term planning and ensure processes align with business objectives.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in operational and production process improvement, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a management team.

  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Expert knowledge of production planning, stock control, and resource management.

  • Proficient with MRP systems and advanced IT/data analysis skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to drive change and improvement.

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).

  • Experience working in an SME or dynamic operational environment is desirable.

  • Knowledge of CNC programming or manufacturing systems is advantageous.
