We are seeking an experienced UK Health & Safety Lead to oversee and manage health and safety across their UK operations. This important role covers two manufacturing and distribution sites, along with their Head Office. The position is based in Stoke-on-Trent with frequent travel to their Lake District site.

A Little Bit About the Role

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective Health & Safety Management Systems

  • Conduct risk assessments and investigate incidents and near misses

  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and industry standards

  • Manage health and safety claims

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation

  • Deliver training and guidance to management teams and employees

  • Monitor and report health and safety performance using KPIs and audits

  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure safety compliance

  • Oversee emergency procedures and preparedness

  • Prepare reports and updates for the Board and Leadership Team

  • Lead health and safety aspects of ethical and social audits

  • Provide expert advice and support across the business

You will be supported by on-site Health & Safety Managers who report directly to you. This is a great opportunity for a team-oriented professional with experience in fast-paced, multi-site environments.

Getting to Know You

  • Proven experience leading Health & Safety in manufacturing or distribution settings

  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices

  • Skilled in risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance management

  • Experience managing contractors and supplier compliance

  • Excellent communication and training skills

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Confident in reporting to senior leadership and producing clear reports

  • Collaborative, proactive, and focused on building a positive safety culture
